Honey Splash

hey this was supposed to be the goo splat from Vfx Apprentice course but I decided to change it a little and make it more like with a honey thematic in mind. Still I uses all the knowledge from that exercise the best I could on this.

I have always been a fan of league of legends and Nami has been my favorite character of the game since the beginning. I took advantage of this chance to make something alongside the idea of her Q, where she shoots a bubble to stun the enemies it hits. So I don't know if I should call it a fan art or not cuz I didn't want to make it the same, just to try to replicate the way it works, But I guess I can call it a fan art.

I struggle the most making the ball going wherever I click with a curve, at the end I did it with a niagara module a created from scratch that basically works as a lerp position between the position I clicked and the position I'm in. I also tried doing it with a generated curve on blueprint but I couldn't control the rotation as much as with the module and had problems with it when the curve tends to be very narrow, which is the case if a throw it close to the character

In my study of how honey behaves I learn that it tends to dissolve toward the edges as it is way more dense there. Also as a result of that, it is darker on the edges. It also has some nice golden streaks flowing on the surface and its WPO movement should very slow and kind of smooth because is dense. So that is something I tried to always keep in mind.

At the end, I'm pretty happy with the result and hope any of this makes sence haha anyways I hope you guys like it!
